Horseback Riding

Enjoy beautiful Wyoming Horseback riding tailored especially for you!

Why go with Rockin’ M and what’s the difference?

Rockin’ M Ranch offers quality horseback trail rides easily accessible from Jackson Hole, Star Valley, and the Alpine Wyoming areas. We pride ourselves in smaller more personable rides, great trails, and friendly experienced guides.

When looking for the right horseback ride you will likely find everything from a short touristy ride at the local ski resort to an all day adventurous ride in the area mountains. With Rockin’ M, our experienced guides will tailor your ride to fit your ability, comfort level and expectations. With several trails to choose from, horseback rides can range from a slow paced tour along the banks of the Salt River to a mountainous ride into the National Forest accompanied by a mountain top barbeque lunch.  We can also combine your horseback ride with some fly fishing! With Rockin’ M, groups are kept small (under 8) and personable. Our horseback riding trips are quality, not quantity.

On our horseback rides, we often see Deer, Elk, Moose, Bald Eagles, Swans, coyotes or other wildlife. Due to the private nature of our Horse trails, we rarely see other people.

Horseback Rides

One Hour River Ride (4 person minimum) $65

This ride is geared towards the small child, timid adult or someone who may not be comfortable being in the saddle for an extended time. Originating from our Rockin’ M stable your guide will tour your group around the Salt River riparian areas. This ride will have some small water crossings and a good chance to see some wildlife that typically live along the rivers edge including ducks, geese, bald eagles, Moose, deer, and coyotes. (Approx. saddle time 1 hour)

Two Hour National Forest Ride $85

The two hour ride departs from the horse stables at the beautiful Rockin’ M Ranch. Expect to see stunning panoramic views, wildflower meadows, and wildlife as this ride gains elevation into the Targhee National Forest. We often give guest the option for a river crossing at the end of the ride, conditions permitting. (Approx. saddle time 2 hours)

Three Hour National Forest Ride (4 person minimum) $120

This is a continuous “in the saddle” ride. This is for the rider who wants to cover the most country for the amount of time spent in the saddle. We will cover a similar distance and trails to our half day without the break 1/2 way through for lunch. This ride will consist of some smaller “in the saddle breaks” for pictures. (Approx. saddle time 3 hours)

Three Hour Forest Ride with River View Barbeque Lunch/Dinner $130

This ride is a great combination of forest, mountains, and river.  After venturing off the valley floor into the Targhee National Forest and taking in some great views, riders will tie up the horses and take a nice break at the private Rockin’ M day camp on the forest edge overlooking the Salt River Mountain Range.  Your guide will cook you a delicious cheeseburger style barbeque lunch/dinner.  Saddle back up and enjoy an exciting finale’ river crossing on your way back to the the Rockin’ M Ranch. (Approx. saddle time 2.5 hours, total activity 3 hours)

1/2 Day Forest Ride with Mountain Top Barbeque Lunch/Dinner $160

Our most popular ride! Similar to the three hour ride, but we will take a break half way through the ride. This is a large loop trail, keeping the scenery ever changing. We offer an optional river crossing at the end of the ride, conditions permitting.
