Message from the owners

We invite you to see what others have to say about the Rockin’ M on our Reviews page, and please read this message from the owners, Rob and Jamie, before booking:

Jamie and I are natives to the area, born and raised just 75 miles from our ranch location.  We both work daily in the business along with our daughters, Desa, and Tassie.  Our 25-year background in horseback and fly-fishing outfitting and our unique riverside location enable us to create an unforgettable Wyoming vacation.

We are a family-owned cabin rental/vacation rental business unlike any other in the Alpine, Star Valley, or Jackson Hole, Wyoming area, therefore in many ways we do not operate as a traditional hotel does, for instance, we do not keep an office and do not we have a 24-hour hotel lobby taking walk in business.  All reservations are taken over the phone.  We do not provide a daily maid service.  In many ways we are more similar to renting a vacation rental like V.R.B.O. or Airbnb without the additional fees.  I often describe us as as “a do-it-yourself guest ranch”.  We offer a guest ranch type experience at a fraction of the price. Our prices are fair and competitive. You will be dealing directly with us, the owners. There are no other similar lodging locations in the Star Valley/Alpine, Wyoming area with a river location that offers such stunning beauty and so many outdoor activities offered onsite or within a short drive.

Our river location is unique in the valley.  The nearest public road is over 1/2 mile away.  We are adjacent to 400 acres of accessible trout fishing on the Salt River and also have private National Forest access.  The cabins are beautifully constructed and quiet with at least 50 to 100 feet of separation.  The cabins have a rustic western décor with modern conveniences.  The compliment we hear most often from guests is “your website doesn’t do your cabins justice”.  We take great pride in keeping the cabins well maintained and extremely clean.  Please take a moment to read our guest policies.  Due to our small number of cabins and our seasonal nature, we have a cancellation policy more similar to a vacation rental or condo than to a hotel.  We also book many of the cabins in blocks rather than by the night. When comparing us to other lodging in the valley, remember the Rockin’ M Ranch is not just a place to stay but a genuine Western Wyoming Experience.

We hope to hear from you!

Sincerely,
Rob and Jamie Meikle
