Rockin’ M Ranch Salt River Fly Fishing Report.

The Salt is currently flowing at 973 c.f.s.  500 to 900 is what I consider typical summer flows.  I have been out guiding about a half dozen times in the last two weeks and the fishing started around 10 fish per day when flows were around 1300 and the water was about 2 feet of visibility.  My last few days were between 40-60.  It is fishing great.  Many fish between 6″-16″ with a few larger trout starting to show their faces.   The visibility is not perfect but close.  Plenty of clarity for a hungry fish to see your bug.  All the typical insects that hatch this time of year are coming off.  Many yellow sallies.  I have been seeing a few of the larger golden stones along with P.M.D’s and caddis.  Stream flows should be consistent and healthy all summer with the mountain springs well charged and plenty of water in the area.  I am expecting a great summer on the Salt River.  To book a fishing trip call Rockin’ M Ranch 307-654-2288.
