Rockin’ M Ranch Fly Fishing Report April 29, 2013

The fly fishing season is close.  Spring reports on the Snake River near Jackson Hole couldn’t have been much better.  Besides streamers and nymphs anglers were picking up large cutthroats on dry flys on the warmer afternoons.  There may be a good few good days left on the Snake River during the next cool down predicted tomorrow, for a few days.  I would suspect the run-off will be in full force here within the next few weeks.  The good news for the anglers is the snowpack is below average over 8000′ and very little snow remains under 8000′ (85% -99% of average).  Ultimately the weather of the next 2 months will determine how soon we are fishing, but from what I am seeing, a mid-late June start on most of the rivers is very likely.  Will report later.
