This is the storm we needed to get back on track. It snowed hard at the Rockin’ M Ranch cabins all day yesterday putting down another 6 inches. Looking at my 4-place trailer it appears we have received a solid 1 plus feet in the Alpine/Star Valley Wyoming area since Sunday. This is good snow with a high moisture content. Reports from guest here at the cabins are of 2 plus feet of new over 8000′ with places that they were only seeing handlebars as snow came over the hood. Since Sunday Willow Creek snotel went from 42-65″, Spring Creek (Afton) 44-65″, Blind Bull 44-55″. The front West Ranges (Teton, Salt River) appeared to pick up more snow than the Eastern ranges (Wyoming Range, Togwotee). Jackson Hole Ski Resort is reporting 18″ in the last 48 hours. Grand Targhee Ski Resort is reporting a storm total since Sunday of 41″. The forecast is for a possible 4-8″ of mountain snow in the next couple of days and then clearing out for the weekend. The current Bridger/Teton avalanche danger is considerable with a prediction of possibly going to high with any additional snow.
